Synthesis of Pyrrolidinium Salts Using a Triazine-based Reagent under Mild Conditions

Various pyrrolidinium salts were synthesized from N,N-dialkyl-N′,N′-dimethylbutane-1,4-diamine using 2-chloro-4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazine (CDMT) under mild conditions. Cyclization reaction for the pyrrolidinium salts proceeded in high yields in polar solvents such as methanol and acetonitrile.
