The risk of sensitization to furry animals in patients already sensitized to cat/dog: An in vitro evaluation using molecular-based allergy diagnostics

Present in vitro and previous in vivo4 data suggest that allergic sensitization to c/d increases the risk of sensitization to horse and mouse because of the presence of lipocalins. Because lipocalins show a certain degree of cross-reactivity,5 a similar finding for other furry animals is likely.
