Zusammenfassung:	Data gleaned from the literature are cited in a review of the relationship between livestock grazing best management practices (BMPs) and water quality in the southern humid region of the US. The most widely utilized and recommended BMPs are livestock exclusion fencing, animal crossings, offstream water sources, and buffer strips. The review identifies a surprising lack of scientific information regarding the effectiveness of such grazing BMPs in protecting water quality and stream stability.
