Zusammenfassung:Highlights • The current study is a large population study that focused on elderly participant among a sample that was representative of the whole Korean population. • The number of remaining teeth was positively correlated with BMD at the total femur (TF), femur neck (FN), and lumbar spine (LS) in postmenopausal women. • After adjusting for all covariates, the remaining teeth (number of teeth ≥26) were associated with a decreased osteoporosis prevalence and a lower incidence of FN osteoporosis in postmenopausal women but not in elderly men.
