Zusammenfassung:Presents evidence for the reattribution of a small work in oil on paper formerly known as "La Poursuite" and attributed to the French artist Edouard Vuillard. Although its present whereabouts are unknown, its author can now be identified as the Scottish artist Charles Hodge Mackie (1862-1920), and its original title established as "When the girls come out to play" (c.1892). The work's former presence in the collection of Vuillard's nephew Jacques Roussel testifies to a relationship between Mackie and the Nabi group in the last decade of the 19th century, the work probably being a gift from the Scottish artists to Vuillard.
