Zusammenfassung: | December 2011 sees the beginning of the long-awaited refurbishment of RSA House, a project that will run to June 2012. This article articulates the central aim of the project, which is to embody the RSA's 21st century enlightenment mission for both Fellows and visitors through a flexible, technologically advanced space that is fit for the 21st century while remaining strongly linked with the organization's 18th century heritage. A concern for historical details runs throughout the proposals for this Grade I-listed building, and architect Matthew Lloyd and his team have spent time researching the Adam brothers' archives to understand both how the building originally looked and how it has changed over the years.
