Zusammenfassung: | Studies using local microapplications of GABA, picrotoxin, and CGP 52432 demonstrated the different roles of GABA sub(A) and GABA sub(B) receptors in the neurogenesis of the primary and secondary components of evoked potentials in rat somatosensory cortex barrels on activation of efferent inputs by mechanical stimulation of the corresponding whiskers. These results led to the conclusion that the processes forming rhythmic discharges due to evoked potentials resulted from local pacemaker mechanisms mediated by the endogenous properties of the neurons constituting neural networks. |
