Spinel Cobalt Oxide Catalyzed Controlled Hydration of Aromatic Nitriles
Selective hydration of aromatic nitriles to their respective amides has been achieved in the presence of spinel cobalt oxide, Co3O4 as a heterogeneous catalyst. Higher yields of the products in shorter duration have been accomplished under hydrothermal condition compared to thermal refluxing.
