Zusammenfassung: | Geminiviruses cause destructive diseases in many crops worldwide and seriously threaten crop production. The genus Mastrevirus (family Geminiviridae) consists of 14 species. Recently, a new mastrevirus (Sweetpotato symptomless virus 1, SPSMV-1) has been reported in Peru, Tanzania, and several Central American countries (Kreuze et al. 2009; Mbanzibwa et al. 2011; Clark et al. 2012; Kashif et al. 2012). To survey for the possible presence of SPSMV-1 in China, 128 sweetpotato samples were collected from 14 provinces of China in 2012. DNA was extracted with the Universal Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (TaKaRa, Dalian, China), and the partial putative movement and coat protein gene sequences of SPSMV-1 were amplified by PCR with primer pairs SPSMV-IF (5'-ATGTGATTTTGCTGTTGAAGGCG-3')/SPSMV-IR (5'-TTGTTGCGAACTGTCCAGGTAGT-3') and MastvkF/MastvsR (Mbanzibwa et al. 2013), respectively. |
