Interethnic variability of CYP4F2 (V433M) in admixed population of Roma and Hungarians

Highlights • First study on functional CYP4F2 (V433M) SNP in Roma and Hungarian populations. • Marginal interethnic differences of CYP4F2*3 missense variant could be revealed. • This allele is more common in Roma (0.32) than in Hungarian's (0.23). • Roma carrier frequency (53.5%) suggest the ne...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • First study on functional CYP4F2 (V433M) SNP in Roma and Hungarian populations. • Marginal interethnic differences of CYP4F2*3 missense variant could be revealed. • This allele is more common in Roma (0.32) than in Hungarian's (0.23). • Roma carrier frequency (53.5%) suggest the need for higher daily mean warfarin dose. • Roma have elevated probability for under-anticoagulation in long-term warfarin use.
