Scanning Tunneling Microscopy: Imaging the Predicted Isomerism of Oligo(aniline)s: A Scanning Tunneling Microscopy Study (Small 28/2015)

Scanning tunneling microscopy and density functional theory calculations are used by H. J. K. Hoerber, C. F. J. Faul, and co‐workers on page 3430 to identify and confirm cis/trans isomers of phenyl‐ and alkyl‐capped tetra(aniline). This isomerism is shown to inhibit molecular self‐assembly and there...

Zusammenfassung:Scanning tunneling microscopy and density functional theory calculations are used by H. J. K. Hoerber, C. F. J. Faul, and co‐workers on page 3430 to identify and confirm cis/trans isomers of phenyl‐ and alkyl‐capped tetra(aniline). This isomerism is shown to inhibit molecular self‐assembly and therefore influence the performance of such molecules, and their parent polymer, poly(aniline), when confined to thin films for device applications.
