Zusammenfassung: | Currently, the models used in Brazil to assess preferences of football clubs are unable to account for the heterogeneous universe of experiences and perceptions of sport and of being a fan. This paper proposes a new model for measuring team preferences, taking into consideration the aspects that compose (at different levels of intensity) the universe of each individual fan. As a test, we performed a quantitative survey with 200 students from USP Leste, with 112 of them female and 88 male. It was noted that few individuals, even among women, neither support nor abhor any team, and it may be possible to enrich the understanding of such phenomenon with further development of empirical and quantitative observable indicators.
