Response Normalized Affect, Enjoyment, And RPE At The Ventilatory Breakpoint In Recreationally Active Young Adults
To determine the response normalized affect (A), exercise enjoyment (EE), and RPE-Overall corresponding to the V sub(pt) during cycle ergometer exercise. Zusammenfassung: | To determine the response normalized affect (A), exercise enjoyment (EE), and RPE-Overall corresponding to the V sub(pt) during cycle ergometer exercise. Ten males (21.7 + or - 3.4 yrs) and ten females (22.7 + or - 2.6 yrs) completed a load incremented cycle ergometer protocol to measure peak oxygen uptake (VO sub(2)peak). The V sub(pt) was determined for each subject as the %VO sub(2)peak at which Ve:VO sub(2) increased without an accompanying increase in Ve:VCO sub(2). Values are means + or - SD. The V sub(pt) corresponded to 69.3 + or - 8.4 %VO sub(2)peak and a heart rate of 155.3 + or - 12.8 beats times min super(-1)for the combined sample. Ratings at the V sub(pt) were: A (+1.4 + or - 1.8), EE (+1.5 + or - 1.6) and RPE (4.8 + or - 1.1) for males, and A (+1.4 + or - 1.8), EE (+1.4 + or - 1.7) and RPE (5.4 + or - 1.5) for females. |
