Searches were performed using 4 electronic databases (i.e., PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and OpenSigle). Search terms included: skeletal muscle AND (injur* OR damag*) AND (strength OR force OR torque). 106 peer-reviewed articles were deemed suitable for analysis.
