Effect Of Exercise Training On Neuromuscular Function Of Arm And Leg Muscles Of Diabetic Patients
To investigate the effect of exercise training on neuromuscular function of arm and leg muscles in type 2 diabetic patients. Eight type 2 sedentary diabetic patients (D, 61.0+ or -2.3) and eight sedentary healthy matched control subjects (H, 63.9+ or -3.8) underwent a 16-week supervised combined aer...

Zusammenfassung: | To investigate the effect of exercise training on neuromuscular function of arm and leg muscles in type 2 diabetic patients. Eight type 2 sedentary diabetic patients (D, 61.0+ or -2.3) and eight sedentary healthy matched control subjects (H, 63.9+ or -3.8) underwent a 16-week supervised combined aerobic and resistance exercise training program. Before and after training, maximal isometric (MVC) and isokinetic (15, 30, 60, 120, 180 and 240[degrees]/s) muscle strength of the elbow flexors (EF) and knee extensors (KE) were assessed to investigate the torque-velocity relationship. After the training program, no significant changes in EF maximal torque values were noted in both groups. Differently, KE maximal torque values of D were significantly enhanced (p |
