Differences In Electromyography Activity Of Five Lower Limb Muscles During One-legged And Two-legged Squats
Neuromuscular activation of the gluteal muscle group while executing the single-leg squat has been well studied. The purpose of this study was to examine the electrical activity of the quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, gastrocnemius, and tibialis anterior during a single-leg and double-leg squat. E...

Zusammenfassung: | Neuromuscular activation of the gluteal muscle group while executing the single-leg squat has been well studied. The purpose of this study was to examine the electrical activity of the quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, gastrocnemius, and tibialis anterior during a single-leg and double-leg squat. Eleven male intercollegiate athletes participated in the study. Electromyography (EMG) of the quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, gastrocnemius, and tibialis anterior were recorded during 5 repetitions of dual-legged squats and single-leg squats. Mean RMS EMG activity for the hamstring (.024 mV, 121% increase, p |
