Zusammenfassung:•Pantoea agglomerans R190 isolate showed antibacterial activity against vegetable spoilage bacteria and human enteric pathogens such as Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli 0157:H7.•The genome size was 5 Mb with 4,778 predicted open reading frames, 23 rRNA genes, and 77 tRNA genes.•A gene cluster for a phenazine antibiotic was found and that consisted of 16 total genes and the gene products play roles in phenaziene core biosynthesis, transport and producer resistance.•Since other known antibiotics genes were not found, it is possible that all antibiotic activity of Pantoea agglomerans strain R190 comes from phenazine antibiotics. Pantoea agglomerans R190, isolated from an apple orchard, showed antibacterial activity against various spoilage bacteria, including Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum, and foodborne pathogens such as Escherichia coli O157:H7. Here, we report the genome sequence of P. agglomerans R190. This report will raise the value of P. agglomerans as an agent for biocontrol of disease.
