Conservation Aquaculture and Endangered Species: Can Objective Science Prevail Over Risk Anxiety?

Some controversy exists over the use of aquaculture to conserve endangered fish populations, when aquaculture is considered a last resort and fish populations are allowed to dwindle in order to keep them wild. Some basic tenets of endangered species management are discussed from the perspective of population biology. A definition is offered for conservation aquaculture, and its role in endangered species management is examined. The potential dangers of a
