Zusammenfassung: | Serum protein electrophoresis only showed hypoalbuminaemia, and bone marrow and splenic aspirates showed no abnormal cell clones. Again, several studies have confirmed that low C3 levels in cryoglobulinaemia do occur (9,12,13). [...]the very low levels of C3 in this particular patient could be explained by the frequent presence of concomitant recurrent bacterial infections. Patients in endemic areas diagnosed with cryoglobulinaemia and/or membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis in the absence of HCV or autoimmune disease must not be simply categorized as primary membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis. |
