Analysis of a Combined Type of Membrane Device for Purification of Industrial Solutions by Ultrafiltration

A design diagram and simple asymptotic formulas are proposed for the supporting frame of a membrane device consisting of two covers in the form of open toroidal shells that mate with a ring along the outer perimeter, and an opening with a circular plate around the inner perimeter. The diagram and formulas make it possible to estimate the stress-strain state of basic components of the cover: toroidal shell, circular plate, and ring. An example of the procedure used to calculate the strength and stiffness of the cover of the device is given.
