The character of the volcanic activity in southwestern Crimea during the Late Albian

For the first time data on the composition of melt inclusions in plagioclases were obtained. The mineral composition of tuffites in the area of Balaklava and the types of primary-igneous zoning of plagioclases are examined in detail. The eruptions were located at the active continental margin; material transport during the eruption and accumulation took place under submarine coastal conditions. The eruption center was located no more than a few tens of kilometers south of the present-day shoreline. The volcanic activity of the Lower Cretaceous paleovolcanic center in southwestern Crimea was reconstructed.
