Zusammenfassung: | Gastroesophageal intussusception is a rare but life-threatening condition that requires immediate diagnosis and urgent surgical intervention. We describe the clinical, radiographic, ultrasonographic, and gross pathologic examinations of a 50-day-old German Shepherd dog with gastroesophageal intussusception associated with esophageal dilatation. The dog was brought to the clinic 10 days after weaning with a history of regurgitation, persistent vomiting, hematemesis, and dyspnea. On admission, the dog was lethargic with signs of shock and died just before surgery. Gastroesophageal intussusception should be considered in the differential diagnosis in dogs with progressive vomiting or regurgitation especially at the weaning time. |
