A Triruthenium Complex Capped by a Triply Bridging Oxoboryl Ligand
Building new bridges: A triply bridging oxoboryl ligand was formed by treatment of the μ3‐borylene complex [{Cp*Ru(μ‐H)}3(μ3‐PhCCH)(μ3‐BH)] (Cp*=η5‐C5Me5) with H2O (see scheme). The multiple‐bond character of the BO bond was revealed by X‐ray diffraction, spectroscopy, and a DFT calculation. Proton...

Zusammenfassung: | Building new bridges: A triply bridging oxoboryl ligand was formed by treatment of the μ3‐borylene complex [{Cp*Ru(μ‐H)}3(μ3‐PhCCH)(μ3‐BH)] (Cp*=η5‐C5Me5) with H2O (see scheme). The multiple‐bond character of the BO bond was revealed by X‐ray diffraction, spectroscopy, and a DFT calculation. Protonation of the μ3‐BO complex to give a cationic μ3‐hydroxyborylene complex clearly showed the highly polarized nature of the B+O− bond. |
