Zusammenfassung:A one dimensional model steady state model ofProton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell to study the hydration ofelectrolyte membrane, diffusion of the water on the membraneand water transport in the membrane (electro osmotic drag andback diffusion) is presented. Initially the theoreticalformulation of the process inside the PEMFC is done based onthe electro chemical equation and reactions. The simulation ofthe theoretical electrochemical model presented in this studyhas been done on the MATLAB computational model. Resultswere compared with the experimental data to investigate theconvergence between them and to validate the model in order ofestablishing confidence in the model when used with rathersmall FC stacks. The conclusions coming out of this study showthat the simulation results are in good agreement with theexperimental data and consequently this model can be reliablyused.
