Zusammenfassung:	Highlights • There are many gaseous signaling molecules, but the best characterized are nitric oxide, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide. • These gasotransmitters have potent anti-inflammatory effects and can promote resolution of inflammation and wound healing. • Novel anti-inflammatory therapeutics are in development which exploit the powerful anti-inflammatory effects of one or more of these gaseous mediators.
