Zusammenfassung:Maize (Zea mays) and sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) leaves were sampled in three central states in Venezuela. Forty two maize samples came from San Javier, Yaracuy State, fifteen of maize 65 of sorghum and four weeds grasses leaves came from places near to Paso Real, Lezama and San Rafael and Altagracia de Orituco in Guarico State as 35 samples of cell culture suspension of sugar cane bacterial infected. All samples were studied using double immunodifusion test in purified agar with antisera produced against Pseudomonas andropogonis, Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae, Xanthomonas campestris pv. holcicola, Pseudomonas avenae y Erwinia sp. The presence of all these bacterias was detected in all of the sampled regions in single or multiple infections, X. c. pv. holcicola was positive mainly in Yaracuy State, P. andropogonis in Guarico State and Erwinia sp. in Aragua State. In cell culture suspension of sugar can the main specie detected was X. c. pv. holcicola following by P. andropogonis and P. s. pv. syringae. P. andropogonis was positive in the "false johnson" weed (Sorghum verticilliflorum) which suggested it as a host.
