Contribution to the knowledge of the desmid flora from Tierra del Fuego (Argentina)

In January 1990, the author collected algae in Valle Tierra Major (Tierra del Fuego, Argentinia). 81 taxa of desmids were registered, 70% of them are also known from the Austrian alps. From 25 of the taxa illustrated taxonomical remarks are given.
