Morphology of digestive tract of curimbata, Prochilodus scrofa. 2. Morphometry

This work has for objective to determine the level of adaptation of the digestive tract of Prochilodus scrofa to the feeding availability in cultivation conditions in a 1,000 m super(2) concrete ponds, with earth bottom and organic fertilization - chicken manure - on a ratio of 12.ton/ha/year divided in 6 portions. This work also intends to fix the relationships between the variables biometrics of the digestive tract and the variables biometrics of the fishes. The intestine has showed a growing in exponential length related to the total growing of the fish, while the increase of the intestine weight presented a linear relation to the increase of the total weight of the fish. Prochilodus scrofa showed a feeding ingestion capacity, at each feeding time, of 3.6% of live weight. (DBO)
