Zusammenfassung:In Ocypoda platytarsis the digestive gland or hepatopancreas is composed of numerous tubules occupying much of the cephalotho-racic cavity. Under light microscope histologically five types of cells could be recognised in the tubules of hepatopancreas. They are classified according to their cell size as ≪E≫ (embryonic), ≪F≫ (fibrillar), ≪M≫ (midget), ≪R≫ (reserve) and ≪B≫ (secretory) cells. The E-cells can differentiate into F-, M-, R- and B-cells. It is evident that both holocrine and apocrine modes of secretion occur.
