Zusammenfassung: | Introduction Corrosion and the electrochemical behaviour of metals in non-aqueous solvents are of current interest. The knowledge of the influence of a certain solvent on the dissolution processes is valuable from a practical point of view. A thorough survey of the literature reveals that little attention has been focused on aluminium in organic solvents. Due to its wide use in industry, this investigation shows the behaviour of aluminium in mixed solvents composed of methanol, ethanol or acetonitrile with water in acidic 1M HCl solutions. The corrosion of aluminium was studied by using the accelerated weight loss method. |
