Primjena Bayesove mreze u analizama rizika u pomorstvu/Application of Bayesian Networks in Risk Analysis in Maritime Traffic

The paper begins with a definition of the Risk Analysis and the necessity of its application in everyday life. It then goes on to define the term Bayesian Networks, their basic and general characteristics. Special emphasis is put on Bayes' theorem. Examples are then given of application of Bayesian Networks in maritime traffic. First, we give an example of a ship accident which is analysed using Bayesian Networks. Next, there is a detailed description of SARGOS, an innovative system of protecting offshore oil installations from piracy, which is becoming an ever greater problem in maritime traffic. Lastly, we describe five different examples of applications of Bayesian Networks in maritime industry and maritime traffic.
