Zusammenfassung:Manganites have potential as room-temperature magnetic refrigerants. The dependence of the thermal conductivity of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 plus or minus delta as a function of density, grain size and silver impregnation around room temperature was studied. A simple effective medium model was used to extract relevant trends in the data, showing a 3-fold increase in thermal conductivity by silver impregnation.
