Zusammenfassung:Although excess heat has been studied in the Fleischmann–Pons experiment for more than a quarter century, there is as yet no agreed upon theoretical explanation. Here we divide the problem between known physics issues and new physics issues. In our approach there is an important new physics model which addresses the fractionation of a large quantum; and a new fundamental Hamiltonian which describes the coupling between vibrations and internal nuclear degrees of freedom.
