Metal plated ceramic ― A novel electrode material

The use of electroless nickel- and copper-plated ceramics, e.g., Al2O3, SrTiO3, and LiAlO2, as an anode material for molten carbonate fuel cells was explored. These materials have demonstrated excellent stability, creep resistance, flexibility of pore size control, and performance. Porous electrode...

Zusammenfassung:The use of electroless nickel- and copper-plated ceramics, e.g., Al2O3, SrTiO3, and LiAlO2, as an anode material for molten carbonate fuel cells was explored. These materials have demonstrated excellent stability, creep resistance, flexibility of pore size control, and performance. Porous electrode structures have been fabricated with pore sizes ranging from 0.2-20 micro m and open porosity of 70. Electrode performance has been measured at 160 mA/cm2 and 75 utilization of a medium Btu for 1800h.
