Zusammenfassung: | A new approach is suggested to establish EH-pH diagrams for M-H2O and M-S-H2O systems. Each species is assumed to be the primary product of a reaction between metal, sulfur, or both with water. This primary product is assigned an activity term representing its stability. At any EH-pH level, the species of maximum stability is identified and diagrams are developed by scanning all points (E, pH) at specified resolution. Results of this work are compared with the literature. In some cases, published diagrams are not in agreement either between themselves or with the present study. |
