Zusammenfassung: | Derince Harbor which is located in the east of Izmit Gulf is one of the most important industrial harbors of Turkey. There are petrochemical and other chemical facilities in the sensitive zone of the Derince Harbor. Therefore the oil pollution should be modeled for the emergency action plan against a probable accident due to ships or facilities. The main factors affecting to oil slick movement are wind speed and direction, current pattern due to wind, tide and density changes, air temperatures and water temperatures. Accurate prediction of oil slick movement depends on determination of the bathymetry and the reliable simulation of the current pattern and turbulent transport. Current pattern and oil slick movement are modeled by the three dimensional hydrodynamic transport model (HYDROTAM- 3). This model has hydrodynamic, turbulent and transport sub models. The oil spill movement was simulated with the 3D oil spreading model. |
