Zusammenfassung: | A study was made of the effect of soil moisture content and porosity on the diffusion of radon through soil. It was found that the diffused radon concentration decreases exponentially with the increase of soil thickness. The diffusion coefficient of radon through soil was found to decrease with the increase of the moisture content and to increase with the increase of porosity. A field study was also conducted to investigate the effect the above parameters on radon concentration values as measured at a depth of ∼50 cm below the earth's surface. |
