Levels of lead, cadmium, and mercury in Canadian cigarette tobacco as indicators of environmental change : results from a 21-year study (1968-1988)

The levels of lead, cadmium and mercury in mainstream smoke from cigarette tobacco grown in Canada have decreased from 1968 to 1988. It is argued that this decrease in the elements is largely due to lower concentrations of heavy metals in the tobacco itself.
