Zusammenfassung: | In their recent review, Hakim et al. described peritonitis due to environmental nontuberculous mycobacteria in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. Seven cases of infection caused by Runyan group IV organisms were reported vs. only one case due to Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). We report two additional cases of peritonitis due to MAC that were associated with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). We describe clinical findings common to the two patients. |
