Zusammenfassung: | The theory of wave propagation from a pressurised cylindrical cavity in an infinite elastic full-space has been investigated by Selberg, Heelan, Jordan, Starfield and Pugliese and Harries. However, these studies are only relevant to vibrations within the body of a material, rather than on the surface. Since environmental regulations require the measurement of surface vibrations due to explosive sources, it is important to examine the radiation at the free surface. Currently, little is known about the radiation emitted from a column of explosive in an infinite half-space, particularly in the viscoelastic case. The viscoelastic case is of importance in the study of ground surface vibrations in realistic materials. |
