Binary origin of the Al-Cr-Si [tau] sub(3)-phase
The Al sub(3)Cr phase (v) of the Al sub(11)Mn sub(4)-type structure dissolves up to at least 10at.% Si and its ternary extension in the Al-Cr-Si alloy system includes the compositional region reported to belong to the ternary [tau] sub(3)-phase exhibiting the same structure.
