Zusammenfassung:To ensure the safety of nuclear power plants, a relatively rapid nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of cylindrical pipes that carry water is needed. NDE methods that use guided waves are a possible solution because a guided wave has a long propagation range. In this study, we developed an analytical method of modeling guided waves that propagate in a fluid-filled cylindrical pipe with attenuation. The analytical method was used to determine the dispersion curves affected by the attenuation of the pipe or fluid itself. We calculated the dispersion curves and amplitudes of displacements, and discussed the effect of attenuation.
