Zusammenfassung:A cDNA clone was isolated that encoded the 33 kDa precursor protein of the oxygen-evolving complex of photosystem II of potato. The deduced amino acid sequence showed high homology with clones isolated from spinach, pea and Arabidopsis. Two domains could be identified that potentially function as Ca- and Mn-binding sites. Potato may contain only one 33 kDa gene. Expression of this gene is predominantly found in leaf tissue and is regulated by light.
