Zusammenfassung:The Italian driftnet swordfish (Xiphias gladius L.) fishery has been monitored by the government since 1990, with the purpose to obtain reliable information. CPUE and CPU values has been obtained from several sampling harbours and observers on board, as well as swordfish length and weight frequencies. Mean values has been calculated for all the areas, in 1990 and 1991.
