Zusammenfassung:	This work presents a methodology for assessment of the atmospheric contamination caused by road traffic, based on the maximum global vehicular emission admissible to be thrown upon an urban area atmosphere. The proposed methodology was tested in an urban area of Rio de Janeiro and three further scenarios were set up to analyze the sensitivity of some variables influencing the atmospheric pollution process.
