Zusammenfassung: | BASHH created STIF in response to the need for robust education for sexual health initially in England, with nurses and health advisers as coauthors of specific course modules. Since its inception, the review of feedback and changing healthcare environment requires the team to update the material on an annual basis. With the development of the STIF skills intermediate and level 2 portfolios, work was concurrently undertaken with the NMC to lobby for the role of advanced nurse practitioner in sexual health to be considered along with other specialties for protected recordable status alongside the mandatory register, thus ensuring that the public and employers were protected from staff not appropriately educated or clinically competent. |
