Range Extension of the Mangrove Dwelling Isopod Genus Ceratolana Bowman (Cirolanidae)

Ceratolana papuae Bowman, 1977 has been recorded only from the type locality at the mouth of the Gonema River and the nearby inlet of Galley Reach, Papua New Guinea. The original description was based on two male specimens. Ceratolana papuae is a large isopod and, given research interest in mangroves, its absence from collections may indicate a patchy distribution. The occurrence of several specimens from Malaysia significantly extends its known distribution.
