Radiative transfer in a plane layer of finite thickness. The two-sided continuation method

A method of two-sided continuation is proposed for solving astrophysical radiative transfer problems. The Ambartsumyan equation for a semi-infinite medium is used to reduce the problem to two basic integral equations which allow a simple numerical-analytic solution.
