Zusammenfassung:A relationship is established between the rate of eddy formation in tundishes, the velocity of the melt entering the tundish, and the degree of contamination of the continuous-cast semifinished product by nonmetallic inclusions. New hydrostabilizing and eddy-damping devices are proposed for use and their effects on the parameters of the casting operation and the quality of the cast metal are determined.
