Zusammenfassung:We study the influence of electrolytically absorbed hydrogen on the Young’s modulus of a rod 12 mm in diameter made of low-carbon steel by the method of measuring the time of passage of elastic waves. It is shown that both the velocity of propagation of elastic waves and the modulus of elasticity of the material increase as a result of hydrogenation of the specimen. The analysis of the accumulated results shows that this is most likely explained by the redistribution of stresses in the rod.
